Pros

Great people to work with. Strong company with great job security (no layoffs, if they need to eliminate positions they reassign people to different groups). Managers work to maintain a really good work/life balance.

Cons

Difficult to progress in the company. Pay is well below the market average, especially considering the level of candidates that are being sought after. Due to this, there is high turnover which makes work within project teams stressful (same work for fewer people). There isn't enough emphasis put on expanding pertinent job skills. Upper management has a very outdated approach to SW development. Rather than invest in the company/employees ability to enhance and overhaul products, Paychex goes out and purchases companies and products and then just maintains those. They don't create their own applications... or even make major upgrades and enhancements to what they have.

Pros

People and the overall environment is a positive one. If you do your part, definite long term career potential. It’s not easy- but stable, growing. Worth serious consideration for early career looking for sales experience with a great training program. Also good for mid-career consideration if base salary isn’t the primary reason you are in sales.

Cons

Very fast pace that doesn’t suit everyone. If you are looking for easy or just a job to “hang out”, this probably isn’t the right spot for you.

Pros

Remote work is a plus. Collaboration from peers is more plus than minus. Documentation of business technology was great for the most part.

Cons

Worse holiday observance company I ever worked for. Pay is low for what is asked. Work/life balance was good until 2025. Mid-level leadership and above is not ideal. I had little guidance when I started so, especially from manager so had to figure things out with help of peers.
