I was with the sales organization for over 9 years. I was a boomerang and worked on different product teams, and in their new channel program. Across all my territories the DSM’s are greed ridden, self obsessed, jealous, ego maniacs!!! There are too many other cons to mention but honestly guaranteed you will not even get past the first one I mentioned as Paychex entire middle sales management is broken. The entire culture comes from middle management as they are all awful and guaranteed to manipulate and burnout any honest person with good intentions. If you’re good, talented, and have a HR network the managers jealousy will be sure to ruin you. If you “hit the ground running “ and exceed or even meet expectations you will be drilled daily for more and on metrics there is NO HOPE. I have seen rookie reps come in and out 100k up in a month only to quit in month 2. Even if you are used to this environment I am telling you it wont work. You will have DAILY quotas and crazy weekly quota asks. If you don’t meet you will get a PIP for 30 days no longer. It used to be a pretty amazing company in the 2010’s now they are too big to fail but to middle management is too stupid to realize and have there boots on your throat each and everyday. Never a break, never a season or temperament of relief. You will be emailed, texted, and called up to 60 touches a day all of it basically threats and manufactured optimism from your manager.
