Pros

I cannot think of a single pro.

Cons

There is no work life balance in this role. They continue to move the goal post and add more to your plate. You are expected to manage over 100 clients, build relationships with each one, ask them for a 5 star review after EVERY conversation (how is that relationship building?), complete all your trainings, meet availability goals even though your inbox and calendar are overflowing, your team is also overworked and won’t have the capacity to help, and on top of all that- changes to the system anger the clients so you’re also getting yelled at for something you have no control over. There is NOT enough training. You will be thrown to the wolves and placed on an overworked team who do not have the time, or knowledge, to help new hires. Team leads are typically promoted from account manager roles but are very obviously not hired for leadership qualities. It’s insulting the level of “leader” that’s promoted to be your team lead. The hiring quality is also plummeting because Paycom can’t bribe employees to stay in this role. It’s embarrassing to be on a team with some of these people who are disrespectful on the phone and write poor misinformed emails. This role is horribly draining but you don’t want to take PTO or sick time because it WILL be worse when you get back. You are told to find email coverage when your are OOO but that is asking a good account manager to double their workload and suffer for you- OR ask a bad account manager to cover for you and all your work ends up in flames with angry clients and you spend a week cleaning up after them. There are endless cons to this role and I cannot stress this enough: no amount of money could make me go back to this role.

Pros

- Base salary - PTO - Awesome colleagues - $1 Medical PPO offering

Cons

- Upper leadership seem to not value the operations department as much as they do with sales. They are not consistent as well, which causes them to change the entire department's job description, expectations, & commission structure every few months. Change is good but huge change every 3-4 months is so exhausting. - They overload you with too many clients to handle while increasing the number of internal calls. When asking for support from sales or middle management, its typically a hard negotiation or non-existent. Expect to work way over 40 hours/week and juggle 10-20+ clients at a time. - Sales will oversell on product & implementation expectation which makes the job 1000% harder. Turnover with sales is extremely high so don't expect for even the best reps stay as they either leave, get fired because quota was not met, or the new manager will cut them if they're "not the vibe". You get left with the newbies who does not know how to sell or support you when you need them. - Every role in this company has high turnover in general. Making it very hard to cross collaborate with other departments as everyone is either extremely swamped or new to the role and cannot support as well, - Being forced to go to Oklahoma for training every year, sometimes twice a year.
