Pros

Good benefits, better than normal pay. Have to put one more sentence to meet the minimum in pros because there is not any other pros to this terrible company

Cons

Where to start? First off, don't be fooled, this company is not growing. They just laid off 10% of their staff because sales are down. They never went public about the layoffs and only sent an email to clients that their current specialists "unexpectedly left Paycor" and lost a ton of clients and current employees because of the way they did the layoffs. They did them throughout the day on March 7th and once all the employees got whiff that when a manager came and tapped you on the shoulder you were gone, the employees were shaking in their boots all day because of it. Everyone that works here hates it and is looking for another job. The stress level is absolutely insane, you get way more than you can handle in implementation.. All management is clicky and has their favorites, it's a super unprofessional environment where they go out drinking with their favorites every night.. Every negative review on here is 100% accurate and all the other reviews are fake. Trust me stay far away from this company. They are not growing and I see an ADP buyout in the future. Spread the word about the layoffs, they deserve the negative publicity for messing up people's lives and also since they are not being honest with the clients.

Paycor Response
9y
Paycor employs nearly 1,500 Associates who put clients first every day. Our client base and our workforce has grown steadily year over year and is projected to continue to do so. We continue to invest in our product, in our work environment, and in Associate development. We listen, we care, and we take steps to improve every day. I am sorry that your Paycor experience did not meet the standards we have as an employer.

Pros

Paycheck hits on time every two weeks.

Cons

I wanted to like working at Paycor. The product has potential and the pitch during the interview process sounded promising. But the reality of day-to-day life here is a far cry from what's advertised. Micromanagement is rampant. Leadership tracks every minute of your day — from login times to bathroom breaks — yet somehow trusts no one to make even the smallest decision independently. You're treated like a number, not a professional. There's zero autonomy, and any attempt to take initiative is quickly shut down. The leadership team is deeply out of touch. Many managers got their roles through tenure, not merit, and it shows. They struggle to answer basic questions about the industry, lean on buzzwords in meetings, and consistently make decisions that anyone with relevant experience would know to avoid. When things go wrong, blame rolls downhill fast. The culture is toxic and cliquey. If you're not in the right social circle, advancement is nearly impossible. Favoritism is blatant, feedback is rarely constructive, and the "open door policy" is a joke — speak up and you'll find yourself quietly pushed out. The work environment doesn't help either. High turnover means institutional knowledge constantly walks out the door. Morale is low, burnout is high, and HR seems more interested in protecting the company than the employees.
