Pros

Amazing Benefits, flexible full time hours if you're hitting quota, most managers aren't micromanaging you.

Cons

Don't expect support from the solution experts team. They are entitled and rude. Their expectations from sales before they will even prep for a demo with you are insane. You're expected to do your own demos for any opportunities less than 100 employees. If you have a same deal in implementation they are likely to have to pull all of their own data, and implementation will only send a PDF with instructions - they won't actually help. There's a "buy up" option to have data up to seven years pulled, but again....the client is pulling the data themselves. Implementation managers are jerks and.....going with the theme ENTITLED. It's a weird culture, but the company has grown really quickly and that's to be expected for a short time.

Thank you for the review - we are thrilled to hear you appreciate the incredible benefits and flexible hours! However, we are deeply sorry to hear that you had negative experiences with our solution experts and implementation managers. We take all feedback seriously and will be addressing these concerns internally. We want to assure you that we are committed to providing exceptional support to our sales team and clients, and we understand that the implementation process can be challenging at times. Regarding your advice on leadership development, we are continually investing in our people to help them grow and develop. We are grateful for your suggestions and will take them into consideration as we evaluate our programs. We also recently launched 2 new leadership development opportunities. We suggest reaching out to your manager to see how you can take advantage of these programs!

Pros

Remote-first company, flexible hours, very realistic/understanding that human beings work here, not automatons.

Cons

I have none. Honestly. Happiest I've been as an employee in any job I've ever had.

Pros

Paycheck hits on time every two weeks.

Cons

I wanted to like working at Paycor. The product has potential and the pitch during the interview process sounded promising. But the reality of day-to-day life here is a far cry from what's advertised. Micromanagement is rampant. Leadership tracks every minute of your day — from login times to bathroom breaks — yet somehow trusts no one to make even the smallest decision independently. You're treated like a number, not a professional. There's zero autonomy, and any attempt to take initiative is quickly shut down. The leadership team is deeply out of touch. Many managers got their roles through tenure, not merit, and it shows. They struggle to answer basic questions about the industry, lean on buzzwords in meetings, and consistently make decisions that anyone with relevant experience would know to avoid. When things go wrong, blame rolls downhill fast. The culture is toxic and cliquey. If you're not in the right social circle, advancement is nearly impossible. Favoritism is blatant, feedback is rarely constructive, and the "open door policy" is a joke — speak up and you'll find yourself quietly pushed out. The work environment doesn't help either. High turnover means institutional knowledge constantly walks out the door. Morale is low, burnout is high, and HR seems more interested in protecting the company than the employees.
