Pros
- Pretty good discount (30% off) - Opportunities for "Payless Bucks" to use on purchases - Opportunities to bonus quarterly based on sales performance - A lot of contests (sales based) for gift cards, payless bucks, awards, etc.
Cons
- No payroll so associates are alone 85-90% of the time - Always 20 different things to do besides servicing customers and you can't get anything done because you're alone - Upper management has no understanding of just how much tasking you have to get done, doesn't give you enough staff or time to do it - Stress levels are very high for all associates because of the amount of work required - A lot of pressure from upper management to always beat numbers - A lot of pressure to keep track of numbers (sales, conversion, upt's, payroll, and so on) - No raises and when there are they aren't very good - If a customer complains about an associate the customer automatically get a gift card, no matter what the issue was - Part time associates get paid minimum wage and hardly ever see raises - Managers are required to work 3 closing shifts a week, every friday, all but one saturday a month and at least one sunday a month (45 hours a week minimum) - Your District manager tells you what days you can take off (mine only allowed wednesday or thursday and sunday off a week) - Managers end up working every holiday, and many stores are now open on thanksgiving too
