Pros
Perhaps the only positive is found in the people themselves. Working four days a week and getting three days off isn't too bad either. It is located on the bus line.
Cons
This place is constantly losing people, which results in a revolving door. Everyone seemingly hates their jobs and has no hope for promotion. Due to these two facts, most workers will not even speak to you, until they see you have worked there for a few months. You will work four ten hour shifts a week, with a mandatory overtime if overtime is needed. You get paid time off, but unless this is used as a prearranged vacation day... it will be counted as an occurrence. The starting wage is 11.50/hr and I have met people that have been here for over seven years and they are only making 13.25/hr. Nothing matters to this company aside from your numbers. You are only as good as your latest numbers and you should expect no loyalty from management. These numbers are becoming increasingly harder and harder to get for all involved. If you drop some trash associated with your daily work routine, you will leave it lay... there is simply no way to get your numbers and do the "right" things. People are very self centered here due to this system and the dangling carrot of performance bonuses. It is not uncommon for people to tell you off or pass the buck on giving advice to workers, they are worried about their numbers. If management sees you are making bonus money, they will switch you to a task that you are not very good at. I suppose this is to keep you from making bonuses or perhaps it is intended as a punishment? You can expect to be watched from a distance as they measure your performance. You also have to keep track of every moment on your worksheet and your RF gun will also track your work. They have recently started watching people on the cameras placed throughout the building, not sure why though. Temporary workers can expect to work about 4-5 months before being converted to full-time. After they are hired, they are put through another 90 days of probation. If you start working there as a temporary, they won't allow you to hire on any other way than conversion. So, this means 7-8 months of working before you can even take a day off. There is sign of drug use everywhere. Since the turnover is so high, the will hire anyone as a temporary. This results in some really unsavory folk working here. People drink or smoke weed in the parking lot every day on break. I seen someone drop their glass pipe on the floor in the bathroom one day. People drive very bad in the lot and most likely do not have insurance. My car has been hit in this lot and no one saw or said anything about it. There are occasional opportunities to advance to a coach position. Most people do not want this position though, as everyone who takes it either gets fired or quits due to stress. The promotion also does not match the pay with the responsibilities. They recently fired a coach they hired off the street, he was trying to have sex near the dumpster... The most inexcusable item is that they are still hiring, despite the fact that no one is even getting 20 hours a week. They have starting hiring refugees, some of which can barely speak English.
