Pros

My direct leadership team is awesome and supportive. They will do anything and everything to help you succeed in your role. We often get free breakfast and lunches for the whole building. And they always like to find things to celebrate. There are a lot of good benefits

Cons

This position is stressful and demanding. Clients are either very kind or very angry, You have way more clients assigned to you then what they promise you. Trying to get out of the client services department is very difficult. The talk about "career development", but so far all I have seen of this is people leveling up in the same departments not moving thought out the company. I have tried to move departments for 3 years and have not been able to because of different timing issues like department lock downs for year end and the fiscal year. There is also a 3 month blackout where you cannot use any vacation time usually from Dec-Feb for year end. Also, all the new hires are getting hired around $5 an hour more then what everyone who has been here for a bit is getting. As for work life balance, At first this was something they pushed and even got mad at me for taking to much overtime. But now they seem desperate to get their metrics where they want them. I am so burnt out from working overtime for the past several months and just want the regular 40 hours but I cant' get my metrics correct without overtime. My team lead even strongly advised that I needed to work overtime in order to keep up.

Pros

Work remote. Fantastic leaders, Definitely a place I have enjoyed working.

Cons

Pay is slightly less than competitors but work life balance and culture make up for it.

Pros

There used to be many. By the time I left all of the pros had been phased out. The only pro was allowing some people to stay remote- but if you wanted to advance in your career you would be forced back in office.

Cons

Low pay. Micromanaging. Hiring leadership from outside Paylocity and even outside of the industry. Major and extreme departmental changes rapidly. Change is a part of business but in six months my role became unrecognizable. I was there for five years and had planned to be there for much longer. This last year was terrible. Low communication from all leadership. Higher and higher expectations of employees with no bonuses or pay raises to accommodate. My regional director was forcing people out and speaking badly about employees regularly.
