Pros

Paylocity is a great company overall, and does care for its employees and the client experience. Your coworkers are smart, helpful, and engaged. There is a decent amount of training resources available to you. The offices are modern, and well-equipped. Implementation, specifically has a couple conferences (nationwide) each year, so that all remote and local employees come together to collaborate and get to know eachother. Most managers are caring, and want to find ways to help you succeed and determine a long-term path for you. Some positions offer remote opportunities. Good health benefits, PTO, 401K Match.

Cons

Implementation is a VERY tough job. High volume times will force you to work outside of the "8-5" schedule almost everyday if you want to keep up with the workload. This includes working on weekends as well. High volume times also interfere with the holidays and makes this the most stressful time of year. Internal processes are constantly changing, so you have to be extremely proactive in learning new systems, databases, and project management in order to keep up. The pay is NOT competitive, and on the lower end compared to other implementation consultants at other HCM companies. Certain managers do micromanage, so that's something to be aware of. You will advance if you work really hard, and give it 125% year-round, but if you're not that person...then you will stay put indefinitely.

Paylocity Response

Thank you for your feedback and review. I am happy to hear that you like so many things about Paylocity. We have experienced a lot of growth at Paylocity and have seen quite a few changes. Working at a growing successful company is an amazing experience, but change is inevitable to ensure we can continue to grow and scale. These growing pains can be difficult and it is certainly something we focus on through improved communication and collaboration. Also due to the nature of our business, our work is cyclical and there are heavier volume times, such as year-end. We know this is a busier time of year, and your manager is here to support you if you need assistance. Thank you for your advice as well. If you have any other suggestions on how we can improve, please reach out to your manager or HR Business Partner. Thank you again for your feedback.

Pros

Work remote. Fantastic leaders, Definitely a place I have enjoyed working.

Cons

Pay is slightly less than competitors but work life balance and culture make up for it.

Pros

The pay is decent compared to the market and the tech is solid.

Cons

The company is abandoning their strategy of "partner first" and is doing their best to become a worse version of Paychex/ADP... Every decision that comes from the top seems so disconnected with reality. Turnover is a huge problem. In just 12 months I've had turnover in my director, channel partner managers, channel support, partner services, RVP, SDR, and more. It's impossible to get anything done when every position around you is a revolving door. Everyone I speak with across lines of business has a similar story. It is a mess across the entire org.
