Pros
Each of the offices are amazing! The Schaumburg, Boise & Lake Mary offices have all undergone huge renovations and offer everything from free food, nap pods, lounge areas and booths to get away from your desk. Everyone gets a state of the art work station which includes sit/stand desk and double monitors with laptop. The company does a great job with parties, social events and other things to make co-workers get to know each other and interact. The executive staff is good at showing their faces at functions. At the quarterly meetings they are always there and any holiday party you will see them out on the dance floor and drinking with everyone else. They are approachable and everyone at Paylocity really cares about helping the company succeed.
Cons
As I mentioned above there are a lot of great things when you work out of the Paylocity offices, however the one downside is if you are remote. Paylocity hired a lot of remote employees when they were building their business and they still have a huge remote employee base. Being a remote employee I feel like I am left alone and on an island. The company doesn't do anything (though they tried once briefly) to engage the remote employees. If hired remotely you are given a laptop, docking station and 2 monitors... that's it. I know every remote employee would appreciate something annually to help with their home office. I asked for a new headset and got denied. I asked for a wireless keyboard and got denied. I have since spent over $1000 on my home office and while I would never expect the company to spend that on my office I would appreciate something considering all the perks the employees get. NO they don't allow you to come to the holiday parties, and even if you are in a corporate location you can't bring your spouse. I have been here almost 6 years and the only thing they send remote employees is a Frozen pizza from Lou Manottis at Christmas time. Another con which everyone should be aware of is career development... there is none. I have been a employee for 6 years and a manager for 4. I had been managing people for 2 whole years before I received any type of "management" training. Even after now managing for 4 years I still haven't gone through "Manager II Training". You get lots of responsibility, freedom to do your job, but no career development. However that may change because they are now opening up Tuition Reimbursement.
