Pros

Was nice to have a remote job during Covid. Leads and coworkers were all nice and there was a shared sense that we were all fighting the same battle. There was also a lot of overtime available if thats your thing.

Cons

Company goes through Account Managers like bottomless breadsticks at Olive Garden. By the time I quit there were only like 10 people remaining from a hiring class of over 30. The job is intense and difficult. The product is unfathomably large, and all the training in the world wont help in making learning the product less stressful. The biggest con in my view is that you will absolutely positively never get ahead of your workload. Maybe at first, but eventually its going to stack up. And from then on you are always going to be burried. Its just the nature of the beast. The ticketing system is constantly in gridlock and customers are very aware of this, and you'll be floating there surrounded by a growing number of problems with nothing you can do about them. Everyone, including managers is aware of this and they adjust their expectations somewhat accordingly but this is still a psychological nightmare. You will always have that nervous feeling in the bottom of your stomach like you're not doing enough. Your entire shift. Every day.

We appreciate your thoughts and feedback. We encourage our Account Managers to partner with their leader if ever feeling overwhelmed so that help and guidance can be provided. During training, AM’s are also introduced to resources to leverage after training such as zoom hotlines/leadership lines for questions, PEAK, and mentors. We encourage employees to speak directly with their manager or HR Business Partner for added support. We are also making efforts towards better distributing the workload in association to call volume. At Paylocity, we understand that our Account Managers are at the forefront assisting with client related needs and are especially busy as we enter Year End. We greatly appreciate all of our Account Managers hard work, commitment, and feedback as we strive to ensure PCTY a great place to work for all.

Pros

Work remote. Fantastic leaders, Definitely a place I have enjoyed working.

Cons

Pay is slightly less than competitors but work life balance and culture make up for it.

Pros

The pay is decent compared to the market and the tech is solid.

Cons

The company is abandoning their strategy of "partner first" and is doing their best to become a worse version of Paychex/ADP... Every decision that comes from the top seems so disconnected with reality. Turnover is a huge problem. In just 12 months I've had turnover in my director, channel partner managers, channel support, partner services, RVP, SDR, and more. It's impossible to get anything done when every position around you is a revolving door. Everyone I speak with across lines of business has a similar story. It is a mess across the entire org.
