Ultimately, I left the company because new management took over our group. The culture they brought with them was completely different and it led to over half of our group leaving within the year that they came in. There were a lot of changes requested, which is normal. However, there was extreme lack of communication and decision making that didn't make sense. Projects that were necessary for growth or system stability were shut down without any reason. Newer team members were taken advantage of when the tenured staff advised differently. The team was told to stop following established processes that led to a lot of confusion. There was a lot of passive aggressive recognition given to team members for smaller projects that eclipse those that worked on larger projects. Credit was taken from members that completed the work and given to someone who wasn't involved. One on ones with management were often unprofessional or cancelled at the last minute. Multiple often led to intense heated arguments with some highly unprofessional things said. I was also advised that there would no longer be any career growth for me, because I wasn't willing to blindly follow a deicsion without minimizing impact on business users or the system. I got HR involved later on, but nothing ever became of it.
