Pros

+ While other companies mostly talk about growth, it does really happen at PCTY + People including higher management are really approachable + This is the first company where I see CEO and VPs regularly presenting and reminding company strategy and business goals + Vast majority of the company is very cooperative and helping + PCTY is one of the few truly remote companies which leverages instant messaging & calls to full extent. + Company intensified investments into tech debt reduction and UX advancements in recent years. Finally, there is more standardization happening among teams in terms of tech.stack and quality level.

Cons

- Portfolio (and tech stack) is generally quite old and even some younger products lack in UX a bit. - There is quite some tech debt in products caused mostly by the fact that deadlines took priority over quality for many years. This has been changing lately. Sadly, old habits die hard and some teams still struggle to safe-guard the quality and push-back on deadlines where needed. - Usage of ticketing & road mapping tools could be much better. PM org does not own this enough. Often times, company falls back on using spreadsheets for various coordination tasks

Pros

Work remote. Fantastic leaders, Definitely a place I have enjoyed working.

Cons

Pay is slightly less than competitors but work life balance and culture make up for it.

Pros

Great benefits; 90% of the ppl that worked there were the best and really did great work.

Cons

Made employees choose between having MLK Day off or Juneteenth- both which are federally recognized holidays. Excuse was that our customers are open on those days so we need to be open. So as a company, we had to pick which would be a paid holiday and everyone chose Juneteenth because it was in the summer. I think we got a floating holiday to use for any other holiday we wanted off that wasn’t recognized by the company. As you can imagine, this racism was prevalent in management/leadership. My team was the most diverse team and we all got restructured/laid off. There’s a lot of ego and control issues in this company, especially in Talent Acquisition.
