Pros

There were pros 8 years ago. I don’t see a ton now

Cons

Barely able to make your bills with the current state of inflation and they refuse to do COL increases. They intentionally make pay transparency confusing so you don’t realize until too late that the base bay is for below the market average. But they constantly brag about their revenue successes and how we have records broken all the time but they don’t share that wealth with everyone else. Managers are amazing but they have very little control over trying to get you real raises. I am the hardest worker on every team and am told on every single one that I am the most valued employee due to my work ethic but am rewarded with more work rather than pay. It’s better to leave Paylocity to get the raise needed than stay and hope. They make changes for reasons they lie about. Like implementing salesforce for implementation emails instead of outlook because outlook doesn’t have reporting. Yes it does. We get reports every week with our ‘Digest’ that shows trends of emails.. but by implementing salesforce we lose basic email functionality like putting a priority flag on an email or delaying an email or being able to have our own personalized templates. We lose basic notifications! Emails should be the easiest part of the job and they are making it so much harder. They I increase our workloads by having a TON of manual processes for the internal partners so adding on frustration with emails was a very bold (stupid) decision. C suite employees are so drastically disconnected from the reality of what the basic worker is dealing with it’s truly egregious.

Pros

Work remote. Fantastic leaders, Definitely a place I have enjoyed working.

Cons

Pay is slightly less than competitors but work life balance and culture make up for it.

Pros

There used to be many. By the time I left all of the pros had been phased out. The only pro was allowing some people to stay remote- but if you wanted to advance in your career you would be forced back in office.

Cons

Low pay. Micromanaging. Hiring leadership from outside Paylocity and even outside of the industry. Major and extreme departmental changes rapidly. Change is a part of business but in six months my role became unrecognizable. I was there for five years and had planned to be there for much longer. This last year was terrible. Low communication from all leadership. Higher and higher expectations of employees with no bonuses or pay raises to accommodate. My regional director was forcing people out and speaking badly about employees regularly.
