Pros
Pay is decent thanks to union.
Cons
Mid to upper management is predominately male. Lower employees feel unappreciated and any concerns are turned back on employee and no help is offered. Supervisors, leads, and managers speak down to lower employees and make them feel insignificant and stupid. Subtle threats, such as, 'Is this concern worth losing your job over?' Poor communication. Feels like employees are disposable. If you want to work less, your only option is to quit. No cutting back hours or call. It's all or nothing. Unfortunately it is the only hospital in the Bellingham area, so no alternatives. Thanks to the union the pay is decent, but it depends on how much do you need to make to overlook the disrespect and sexism that is so rampant in this organization? Different expectations for different genders in same role.
