Pros

The job is nice for a single person or someone without kids. There is a lot of freedom and you get to talk to very interesting people all day. If you are highly motivated and independent, it is great because they give you a lot of freedom to essentially run your own territory. The bonus payouts are usually pretty nice.

Cons

Upper level management is all flash and no substance. They do not offer opportunities for advancement to people based on merit, but on who you are close to. Some of the senior level management have literally accomplished nothing, or maybe made goal one time and then are promoted to these big positions they are totally unqualified for. Having worked for Prentice Hall and then after the merger for the Arts and Sciences Division, the A&S division is much better and much more competent. The PH side of things is a joke within the company, especially the upper-level sales management.

Pros

Decent pay. Not much else.

Cons

No lunch break, no breaks in general, can’t go to the bathroom for hours on end, the managers’ daughter gets special treatment because her mother is in charge. Constant criticism and unfair treatment.
