Pros

What it lacks in salary, they actually had decent benefits.

Cons

I had my reservations coming to Pearson out of higher education, and unfortunately they proved to be true. Frequent layoffs, and complete and total lack of leadership at the management level was my experience. I was very excitedly recruited for my job at Pearson, and then laid off 8 months later, along with my entire team and several others. My leadership structure started jumping ship one by one a few months before we were all let go, so in retrospect, the writing should have been on the wall. In my time there, I often felt like my leadership team, outside of my immediate supervisor did not understand my role, and I often found it difficult to get the training or resources I needed to be successful in my role. I often found it ironic as a person that worked in training-training other employees- I was regularly told I had to "train myself" My team frequently felt like it was in direct competition with another team for our jobs-It was a confusing dynamic to log in to work every day wondering why someone on the same team as you was seemingly, inexplicably gunning for your job instead of figuring out how to work together. Each business unit seems to run on its own, separately from the larger Pearson, and it made it difficult to connect my work to the larger company.

Pros

Working on EdTech and helping improve educational outcome. Caring coworkers, altruistic & mission driven, etc.

Cons

Pay is reasonable for working in the education field but is slightly lower than working in other parts of tech.

Pros

Decent pay. Not much else.

Cons

No lunch break, no breaks in general, can’t go to the bathroom for hours on end, the managers’ daughter gets special treatment because her mother is in charge. Constant criticism and unfair treatment.
