Strong Site Teams, Disappointing Leadership and Exit Experience - Community Manager Pegasus Residential Employee Review

Pros

Competitive compensation, strong benefits, and many talented associates who genuinely care about their residents and communities. I worked with several great team members throughout the organization and gained valuable lease-up and operational experience. Most of the positive aspects of my experience came from the on-site teams rather than upper leadership.

Cons

My experience was defined by a significant disconnect between the culture leadership promotes and the reality I experienced in the field. Communication was often inconsistent, expectations changed frequently, and accountability depended heavily on who was involved. The most disappointing part of my experience came during my departure from the company. What should have been a straightforward separation became a prolonged payroll dispute involving deductions from my final paycheck. Over the course of more than a month, I repeatedly requested documentation supporting the deduction and received multiple explanations involving a relocation bonus and alleged petty cash receipt issues. Despite numerous requests, I was never provided a clear and consistent explanation addressing all of the questions raised. I found myself spending more time navigating personalities and internal politics than solving operational challenges. Leadership frequently felt reactive rather than proactive, and employee concerns were not always addressed with the level of transparency and professionalism that should be expected. There are many talented people within the organization, but leadership, communication, accountability, and employee relations need significant improvement.

Pros

Pegasus Residential is a company that genuinely invests in its people and promotes a culture of accountability, collaboration, and growth. Leadership is accessible and supportive, and associates are empowered to make decisions that positively impact their communities. There are meaningful opportunities for career advancement, and the company encourages continuous learning and professional development. The focus on resident experience, operational excellence, and team success creates an environment where hard work is recognized and employees are set up to succeed.

Cons

The multifamily industry is fast-paced, so priorities can change quickly. It requires flexibility, strong communication, and the ability to adapt, but those challenges also create opportunities to grow professionally.

Pros

- Use of (Maintenance app) helps stay organized - I started two months ago and already I feel my opinion is extremely respected by Property Manager and Regional Manager - Encouraged to learn. Do thing the right way instead of cutting corners. - Easy access to Company Policy. Never an unanswered question I'm genuinely happy at this job. I found purpose in my days that I had lost in my previous career.

Cons

Genuinely, I dont have any specific cons at this moment regarding Pegasus. Maybe implementing more security cameras but thats more of a property issue than company.
