Pros
I worked for Evergreen at Coursey Place in Baton Rouge for over a year when it was owned by Pegasus Residential. Recently it was sold to another company and no other communities are owned by Pegasus in Baton Rouge at the moment. This company is a good one to work for. They pay well, have good vacation and sick leave and great health benefits. They have a uniform policy and provide uniforms for free (first set of uniforms I had to pay for but they changed that after I started). The owner and higher-ups are all down to earth and realistic. They are friendly and easy to talk to as well. I had a hard time balancing work-life as I'm too nice and would let residents or future residents keep me at work late after 6.... that was just something I had to work on. I loved my manager Zarina Smith and assistant manager Lynelle Smith. They made it worth being there everyday. I also loved the other leasing consultant. I was sad when I had to leave. Even the maintenance staff was awesome. Raises for me at least were really good!
Cons
There wasn't too much training as everyone is busy to actually train the new employee. I was shown a lot of what I know from another leasing consultant. I was there already 6 months before someone from corporate showed up and did the training. It's an easy job though but a lot of duties so you stay busy. Just need to learn how to use their software. There wasn't much room for advancement as they only had one property in Baton Rouge and the assistant manager and manager weren't going anywhere. Therefore, I had to stay in my current position unless I moved out of state or a few hours away. I left for another job with more pay and better working hours. You have to work every other Saturday and when I worked there Sundays too. Since then they close on Sundays now. When it gets time to do your commission, plan on staying late as there isn't enough time in the day to get it done while you are working your normal working hours.
