Pros

Different locations are better than others. First management we had was good, but new management was not very good. Can be fun if you have the right group.... You learn new things... Loved the job in the beginning... Yet can't think of anything really good about it now... It can be fun

Cons

-The company itself doesn't make very good decisions. They deliberately change sections in a way so that products are overlapping and don't fit right. Also they have the new resets to be done Sunday nights when the people who do those overnights are the same people that have to get up super early in the morning to do stocking; it screws up with peoples schedules, but they don't care. Multiple times we have to redo sections with pieces that we are supposed to have, but don't and usually never get. You can also ask multiple times for a problem to be corrected, but never does.In general they do a lot of things that make it more difficult for employees to do their job. -In my location management makes a lot of broken promises. They want their bonuses so they don't schedule enough people to go below payroll. Yet get upset when store ratings go down. They don't respect lower level managers. -It's not a "team" environment. Company/management won't fire associates that desperately need firing, and they agree, but just won't do it.

Pros

The company pushes for more and more from the bottom level employees without better pay. I worked there before the restructuring and; not much can make me cry, but working here sure did, even back then. I can’t imagine how anxiety inducing it must be to work there now. Animal welfare is a complete non-concern. The only thing that’s pushed is sell, sell, sell. It’s borderline dystopian. Bad management seems to be a common issue, not only from my experience, but many others’ as well. I worked until I was an exhausted sweaty mess to make sure everything in pet care or, when I groomed, the salon, was cleaned to perfection as expected of me (and I reiterate: “me,” because these standards were not expected of my co-workers, just me) and overall felt very unseen. The only times I did feel “seen,” was when mistakes were made. Work was treated like boot camp. A co-worker that was subtley targeting/bullying me, and even started rumors accusing me of racist remarks(!!!), was promoted and anything I reported was downplayed because they were friends with the assistant manager. Working here was an overall traumatizing experience.

Cons

Employees are expected to be work-robots
