Pros

One of the best reasons to work for PetSmart is that interaction is with more pets than people. There is also plenty of opportunity for advancement, and I agree with PetSmart's beliefs and policies. Also, the pay is very good for my department.

Cons

PetSmart, or at least my department, is not exactly a clean job. I smell like a wet dog when I get home from work. Providing a shower in the workplace would help me out a lot with this issue. Also, PetSmart doesn't allow associates to bring their pets to work with them, which seems strange to me.

Pros

If you have experience they can pay very well considering the size of the company. Depending on which store you are in, they can be pretty good at fostering a good environment and culture.

Cons

Company is primarily focused on sales and not customer experience. So expect a lot of metrics and hounding customers. Company is trying to be technologically forward but continues to neglect to invest in the technology. So there’s updates every week crashes every week with no communication around it.
