      Pros

      1. The children are the best reason. 2. The opportunity to learn something new every day. 3. Co-workers are very supportive of each other.

      Cons

      There exists a very critical and non-supportive Senior Administration. Little to no communication from top managment down. It is clear that the needs of employees, and their successes are not recognized. It is an adversive environment with regards to the culture of senior management. They lead by instilling fear. As far as the employees who have a mission and a dedication to children it is awesome. Some of the kindest and most dedicated staff work there. Each employee has a special talent and each skill set could be used and enhanced to make PCH one of the best places around to work at.

      Pros

      The culture here is truly exceptional. From day one, I’ve felt supported, encouraged and set up for success. It’s been a genuine joy coming to work each day. What stands out most is how approachable and invested everyone is at every level, including the CEO. They take the time to answer questions and offer guidance. Coming from an academic background into a completely new environment and I’ve really appreciated the patience and understanding from my colleagues as I tackle this brand new adventure. It’s a welcoming, collaborative place where you feel valued, and I’m grateful to be part of the team.

      Things move quickly, which can be challenging at first, but it keeps the work engaging and creates lots of opportunities to learn and grow.

      Guaranteed hours. Friendly co-workers. Pay is decent if you know you're worth.

      Cons

      No career support for experienced nurses looking to pivot or transition to a different role. Raises were not given due to Medicaid cuts.
