Pros

People who choose to work here don't do it for the money, they do it because they genuinely want to help children and it shows. Child Life department dedicated to normalizing the hospital experience for kids truly does a good job. Lots of donated toys, fun activities to take kids' minds off of their illness, visiting athletes and celebrities create high energy.

Cons

I have worked in 2 very different, role-wise, departments in the last 5 years and wish I could still believe that' it's "100% For Children" as claimed. Yes it's a business 1st and foremost or it wouldn't remain open and keep serving people, but employee satisfaction and fair compensation are needing considerable improvement. -Frequent changes in workflow -Salaries not comparable to other like jobs in the market -Hiring a disproportionate of new RNs as they are less expensive but at the detriment of not having safe staffing -Most positions have very little room for advancement -Management plays favorites

Pros

The culture here is truly exceptional. From day one, I’ve felt supported, encouraged and set up for success. It’s been a genuine joy coming to work each day. What stands out most is how approachable and invested everyone is at every level, including the CEO. They take the time to answer questions and offer guidance. Coming from an academic background into a completely new environment and I’ve really appreciated the patience and understanding from my colleagues as I tackle this brand new adventure. It’s a welcoming, collaborative place where you feel valued, and I’m grateful to be part of the team.

Cons

Things move quickly, which can be challenging at first, but it keeps the work engaging and creates lots of opportunities to learn and grow.

Pros

Guaranteed hours. Friendly co-workers. Pay is decent if you know you're worth.

Cons

No career support for experienced nurses looking to pivot or transition to a different role. Raises were not given due to Medicaid cuts.
