Pros
I really loved the environment at PicMonkey. Everyone works hard, but they have fun doing it. As an intern, I was given a lot of great projects over the summer that gave me real world experience to build my resume. Day one it was down to work, no coffee-run nonsense. The upper level management are all salt of the earth and were more than willing to chat about career advice with me. The perks are really great,;it's quintessential startup life, complete with a napping area, bean bag chairs, and all the snacks and drinks you can eat. It was a wonderful experience and I loved coming to work every day.
Cons
Although I found the work that I was doing very challenging and rewarding, the only reason why I chose not to stay was that for me, it's important for me to feel like my work is directly making the world a better place. Not to say that PicMonkey doesn't do that for their users, but I'm just more interested in bigger and bolder ideas than making people's pictures look better.
