Pros
Working at Picnichealth started out really great — friendly and supportive environment, great team of people, OK salary and benefits among other things.
Cons
Everything went downhill after the mass layoffs of January 2023. First of all, they suddenly announced it in the middle of the night (around 12:00mn). Imagine waking up and realizing that you don’t have a job anymore!!! And for the people that were left behind, our workload got heavier to make up for the people that they fired. The salary quickly became too small for the work that they were making us do.

We appreciate your honest feedback about your experience at Picnichealth. We're glad to hear that you found the initial working environment friendly and supportive. We understand that the announcement and timing of the Reduction in Force were unexpected and distressing and want to assure you that these decisions are never taken lightly and are always based on the company's evolving needs and priorities. We are grateful for the dedication and effort our team members, including you, put in during challenging times. We regret that you felt the workload became overwhelming, and we will certainly take this feedback into consideration as we make future decisions affecting our team.

Pros
Really enjoyed my coworkers, they were super flexible on account of being fully remote, and the work was interesting
Cons
Got laid off along with around 1/4th or 1/5th of the company. They did not do it in a very professional manner. Locked me out of all accounts at 9am. Supposedly they sent an email to my personal account with some information about the layoffs but I did not receive it, so I didn't know what was going on until I got a meeting invite titled "Exit Meeting" to my personal email to meet with the CTO in 10 minutes. I also never got the opportunity to talk to my manager. I'm sure it is difficult to do layoffs as a remote company in general, but they did not handle it particularly well.
