Pros

Its a paycheck? They offer benefits if you can afford them. If you LOVE having weekly mental breakdowns this place is perfect!

Cons

Cenobites would love it here! No one in this store is trained. In anything. Product is constantly stocked behind the wrong tag, and that's if the product is ordered at all. Shelves will be completely empty for months, not because it isn't available, but because no one will order it. Changes are made and the Store Manager will not tell anyone. Store Manager refuses to communicate anything, period, even if it is just about when bathroom tp/paper towels will arrive. Turnover is crazy high because no one gets a raise, ever, and the people around you will drive you to burnout. Most of the employees are completely illiterate, blind, or both and refuse to learn how to do the most basic tasks. No one will throw away their plastic, drinks, or food when they are done and you will find this all over the store. They will not throw cardboard in the bailer and it will sit in the middle of the floor for months. Did you just spend 5 hours straightening the back stock room so you can find your backstock to fill the shelves? Have fun doing it again the very next day, but with everything rearranged in a completely new way! Did you pull out of date or damaged products from the shelves so they can be returned? Who knows because someone put them right back out, and its 50/50 if they even put it out in the right spot! Nothing is rotated, dates are not checked, the meat department throws away the packages for out of date product, repackages it, and sells it as though its fine. Most of these products are out for over a month, and they don't check for mold- btw how brown should raw meat be before you pull it? Well done? Broken product is left sitting in one place for months at a time, vendor product is placed with the returns, and there is mold in the ceiling and dairy-area sink. If you want to use the bathrooms here you need to clean the toilet yourself because they will leave feces smeared on the seat and toilet itself for weeks. No one has a clue what they are doing, what they are supposed to be doing, or what is going on, communication is nonexistent. Assistant Store Manager is never seen on the floor and has to be dragged out- he's too busy dragging something else if you know what I mean (he has been caught doing it by employees MULTIPLE TIMES).

Pros

Will work with your availability.

Cons

Does not pay any more than $8 an hour (will be $7.38 an hour after social security & Medicare taxes and they don’t do raises). Rude customers. Two (sometimes three) carts full of groceries on food stamp days. Almost no maintenance done to the store (still have outdated registers running the point of sale version of Windows 7). Toilet paper dispensers in the bathrooms are broken and haven’t been replaced in over two months. Training is almost nonexistent. The cashiers actually got more training than I did. Does not do any employee, veterans, or senior citizen discounts. Food is too expensive so I’m not able to afford to shop there. I have to shop elsewhere (Food Lion & Dollar General) just to be able to afford to eat.
