Pros

It was a great job for many years. The people I worked with in Hawaii and Johnston were amazing and it seemed like they cared and would help you succeed. For years, I was excited to go to work and learn new things, and I moved up in the company as I learned and took on more and more responsibility.

Cons

The Hawaii location was considered something akin to boot camp compared to the rest of the company because it is a year-round location and has no downtime. There is so much work to be done that it affects your personal life. Politics were such an extreme part of daily life there that it could (and often did) make people quit. There was also no job security as management changed regularly and your value as an employee was constantly reassessed by people who didn't even know you. At the end, I saw people blamed and fired after getting hurt on the job, even if the injured person had pointed out the safety issue to management and been ignored prior to getting hurt. I also witnessed management direct employees to break company policy (& possibly the law) before I left. I saw people fired or being forced out for questioning things or reporting them to other people outside the location. It was disturbing and caused a lot of good people to leave the company.
