Pros

I have worked for a few staffing firms but I have got to say Piper is definitely the best. The exec team up to the owner would rather take less money to pay recruiters and account managers more or give prizes, gifts, awards, etc. The company as a whole handled the pandemic in the best way imaginable. They paid for at home workout programs, held virtual events, sent out personalized pandemic friendly gifts, and made sure everyone had anything they needed no questions asked. They let everyone work remote and still even though we are back in the office part time have not forced anyone to come in that needed to be home due to childcare or illness. They have one of highest (if not the highest) compensation structures I have seen. The company leadership team also started two major programs for DEI and Women in Leadership. The DEI program offers seminars, trainings, and has a taskforce focused on recruiting diverse talent, offering leadership opportunities, and process/protocol changes. The Women in Leadership program includes a book club, seminars, trainings, guest speakers, roundtable discussions and open forums to promote education and leadership opportunities for women in the workforce.

Cons

Recruiting/sales in general is not a 40 hour a week job and not easy but might as well do it with a good team and good company.

They took a long time to respond to emails, and the directions weren't clear.

Pros

• Great peers who make the workday enjoyable • Leadership has been investing in change, including a new CEO bringing fresh direction • High performers are given flexibility and trust • Exposure to federal contracting and IT staffing, which builds unique industry knowledge • Opportunity to make strong money if you’re willing to grind Additional Context for Job Seekers A lot of negative reviews you’ll see here are from consultants or project-side employees, and those experiences don’t always reflect what it’s like to be in sales or recruiting. If you’re interviewing for an Associate Account Manager, Account Manager, or Recruiting role, read those reviews with caution. This is sales. It’s hard, it’s metrics-driven, and it’s not for everyone. But if you’re motivated, competitive, and want to learn how staffing works, you can do well here.

Cons

• Like most sales orgs, if you’re not producing you’ll feel the pressure • Constant monitoring of numbers can be draining • Staffing is a tough industry, and AI is making it even tougher. Not every hiring manager values what you bring • Frequent change in direction creates uncertainty at times
