Pros
I have worked for Pitney Bowes, which is an office management contract company for hire contracted to fulfill office duties within a business. The work environment is professional. Typically, the group of Pitney Bowes employees assigned to a site can be 2-7 people assigned to perform all office functions included, but not limited to mail room operations, filing, faxing, answering multi-line telephones, greeting customers as they come into the office, etc. Because there is a small group of Pitney Bowes employees, the group is usually pretty close and the potential for lasting friendships is strong. Benefits are pretty average. Health Insurance is offered at a decent rate. 401K matching has been suspended until 2010. A useful benefit is the opportunity to get college tuition reimbursement, but a person would have to major in Business, Computer Science, or something related.
Cons
Pitney Bowes is a contract company. If the site that you are working for decides not to renew their contract, you might be out of a job until your managers find another site.
