Pros

Generally supportive work environment, good company culture, management is understanding of the need for work-life balance, good mission.

Cons

The pay is not competitive at all. Loyal and productive employees are not rewarded with any sort of significant pay raise. An annual cost-of-living increase doesn't mean that much if your starting salary is 30-50% less than the industry average.

I am proud of the steps we took beginning late in 2018 to implement salary adjustments across the organization, using external benchmarking. I am confident our pay scale is competitive, yet we must continue to monitor to ensure our total compensation - base pay, stock options, benefits and development support - reflect our company’s values and our employee’s value to us. Pivot Bio provides farmers with the best-performing, lowest-cost, most sustainable form of nitrogen fertilizer available on the market. Under a new leadership team, the company has taken the difficult but necessary steps to right size the cost structure of the organization, while at the same time accelerating the pace of innovation and expanding paths to market, turning this once in a century technology that helps the planet grow food more sustainability into a sustainable business. I am proud to work at Pivot Bio and have never been more confident in our path to continued success.

Cons

This is a high pace of play, high pace of change organization that may not be right for everyone. For those who can operate at a high pace of play and truly want to be a part of the journey to transform the crop nutrition practices of farmers around the world, Pivot Bio is a fantastic place to work!
