Pros
Planet encourages their employees to follow their interests and never stop learning. In my year at Planet I've seen people switch from business-focused roles to technical roles, from software dev to spacecraft/hardware. Everyone has the chance to to follow their interests, and you aren't punished if your interests change. The most welcoming and thoughtful company I've worked at.
Cons
As in most companies, the loudest voices often win when setting priorities and and working on cross-team projects. Luckily, Planet's management team works hard to empower all employees to speak their mind, and make their voices heard.
