Pros

Having been in the Planful ecosystem for several years, I have seen the company transition through a few different phases. What I can say without hesitation, is there are many high quality individuals that work here, and the culture has always been very strong. I personally feel I've gained a sense of accomplishment, that my job matters and the ability to do my job has never been diminished or jeopardized by a lack of support or resources. Further, the software truly helps customers do their job better.

Cons

Every company goes through ebbs and flows, peaks and valleys, and I think Planful is no different. The company is going through a transition period and I think that can be difficult for some employees to handle; especially those who are newer to the company and don't have the historical context around how and why changes need to be made. Leadership turnover, reductions in force and shifting investments into different areas of the business can cause friction and upheaval, but I believe it can be likened to "ripping off the band-aid." Sometimes, it has to be done and there is short-term pain associated with sudden change. Good or bad, it doesn't necessarily mean that wounds don't heal.

Pros

Like many companies, last year had its challenges, but it's exciting to see the growth and momentum we've built this year. One of the biggest investments has been in Customer Success, and growing our team means we're able to better support our customers during a time of rapid change across the industry, especially with AI. I also appreciate that people here are empowered to make things happen. There's a real bias toward action, and you're encouraged to go to the source, collaborate across teams, and bring ideas forward. It's also great to see the company continuing to invest in new ways to strengthen our culture and support employees.

Cons

As a growing company, things move quickly and priorities can shift. That means you have to be comfortable with change and be willing to adapt. While it can be challenging at times, I see it as part of the company's evolution and the work we're doing to better support our customers and each other.

Pros

Under the previous leadership, this was one of the best companies I had ever worked for. The culture genuinely emphasized employees, customers, and long-term growth. Teams were collaborative, people cared about doing great work, and there was a real sense of momentum. Many of the people I worked with were incredibly talented and committed. At its best, the organization had strong leadership at multiple levels and a clear mission that employees could rally behind.

Cons

Over the past several months the company has gone through multiple rounds of layoffs (October, December, and January). From my perspective, these decisions appeared to be primarily focused on reducing costs rather than performance or organizational effectiveness. Many high-performing and experienced employees were impacted, which has created a lot of uncertainty for those who remain. Morale has declined significantly and there has been a noticeable increase in voluntary departures. Remaining employees were also just asked to pick up everything that laid off employees were doing. Creating unsustainable workloads and expectations. The go-to-market organization has also experienced substantial disruption. Changes within the SDR organization and leadership turnover have made pipeline generation more challenging. On the product side, the platform feels dated compared to newer competitors that are building more modern, AI-native solutions. This makes the competitive landscape increasingly difficult. This is not the safe, fast growing company it once was.
