Pros

PTO/wellness days are generous, good healthcare plan, but no 401k matching which is insane given how well this company is performing.

Cons

Man, where to start? I had such high hopes for this company only to have them sorely dashed and very quickly...they recently crossed a significant financial milestone, but are there any rewards for those of us who help make the magic happen? Nope! In 2023, there were no merit increases and no bonuses for ANYONE in addition to a few rounds of layoffs. I was already underpaid and trying to claw my way up only to find this out, yet the company is doing better than ever year over year. Totally fair right? Nah, just keep feeding the corporate machine. The salary bands are low and they don't reward people for tenure. I couldn't get anyone to help me carve out a career path no matter what even though I've been eager to grow and have taken a lot of initiative to do so (learned new skills, took on projects, training courses, etc). They add more responsibility to your plate without changing your title or pay. You may have a difference experience, but I feel obligated to share mine. I would have spent my career here if I felt there was actually room to grow.

Pros

Like many companies, last year had its challenges, but it's exciting to see the growth and momentum we've built this year. One of the biggest investments has been in Customer Success, and growing our team means we're able to better support our customers during a time of rapid change across the industry, especially with AI. I also appreciate that people here are empowered to make things happen. There's a real bias toward action, and you're encouraged to go to the source, collaborate across teams, and bring ideas forward. It's also great to see the company continuing to invest in new ways to strengthen our culture and support employees.

Cons

As a growing company, things move quickly and priorities can shift. That means you have to be comfortable with change and be willing to adapt. While it can be challenging at times, I see it as part of the company's evolution and the work we're doing to better support our customers and each other.

Pros

Having been in the Planful ecosystem for several years, I have seen the company transition through a few different phases. What I can say without hesitation, is there are many high quality individuals that work here, and the culture has always been very strong. I personally feel I've gained a sense of accomplishment, that my job matters and the ability to do my job has never been diminished or jeopardized by a lack of support or resources. Further, the software truly helps customers do their job better.

Cons

Every company goes through ebbs and flows, peaks and valleys, and I think Planful is no different. The company is going through a transition period and I think that can be difficult for some employees to handle; especially those who are newer to the company and don't have the historical context around how and why changes need to be made. Leadership turnover, reductions in force and shifting investments into different areas of the business can cause friction and upheaval, but I believe it can be likened to "ripping off the band-aid." Sometimes, it has to be done and there is short-term pain associated with sudden change. Good or bad, it doesn't necessarily mean that wounds don't heal.
