Pros

Some really great people in the mix that genuinely love the work they do and the people they do it with. The facility itself is stunning. Diversity work is not great but most certainly looking to progress. Giving back is a priority for employees which is wonderful to see in an employer.

Cons

Let me preface that I was heritage Tufts Health Plan and was employed during both the pandemic and the merger between THP and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. The new organization of Point32Health is NOT Tufts Health Plan or Harvard Pilgrim Health Care. I always bump into folks that have had great experiences with both however Point32Health is NOT either of those amazing legacy companies. This new organization has made it a priority to establish itself as it's own organization so I shall review it as such. My personal experience: This organization is a hot mess to say the least. My team of 12 people depleted to a team of 3 and when I left my department was at a 40% staffing capacity. So as you can imagine everyone was heavily overworked which just makes going through a transitional period even more difficult. After months of working extended hours to keep up with the open projects that we had afloat and working weekends to meet deadlines I wanted to utilize my unlimited PTO. I personally hadn't taken a vacation in 6 months and I just wanted three days off after a an aggressive conversation with my acting temporary manager ( as surprise surprise we didn't have one in place). While attempting to put in for these 3 days, I was first approved and then denied and told " If I needed a personal day I should take a leave of absence". With that advice I took said leave and when I returned I had not only a new boss but also a notice of termination. They had decided while I was out they were going to dissolving my position as well as my entire teams. Between my return and my last day I was excluded from team events, lied to and treated as an outsider even though I had been a part of this team pre-pandemic. Hopefully not everyone's experience here is the same as mine but I cannot stress how dreadful this organization was to my mental health and personal time. The organizational changes: There are only 3 original members left from the heritage organization everyone else is brand new. The name and values was something we outsourced so don't be surprised if things don't seem to truly reflect the organization itself. Senior leaders are not open and honest as their heritage leaders were so be sure to take everything in with a grain of salt.

Pros

Great professional development opportunities Excellent medical and ancillary benefits Responsive and Supportive Supervisory Staff who are also patient, kind, and a true leader for their teams Excellent staff/team cohesiveness Disability and Neurodivergence Educated and Accessible Excellent interdepartmental collaboration

Cons

Executive Leadership is unstable and constantly influx with new CEO staff annually during my employment period. Newest CEO doesn't seem to understand the level of empathy and personal work healthcare requires and that is a pillar of the success and longevity of Point32Health. His efforts to reduce costs by cutting manpower reduces quality in the long term future unfortunately in my perspective. HR support on some items was a pain to deal with, but new servicenow platform has improved the overall experience as well.
