Pros
- Schedule is unlikely to be changed without discussion - So long as minimum metrics are met you're free to do whatever - GSC promotes a "shared suffering" mentality that breeds comradery - If you're above the L1 role there are certification opportunities
Cons
- GSC is highly political. - Account profitability sets the importance of your role. If you're assigned to an account that doesn't generate profit then you're not a going to be a priority - Delegation is often out of control. Program Managers delegate work to Service Desk Managers who delegate to the Process Analysts who delegate to Level 2s - Senior Management has changed multiple times and each change upends previously established processes - Lack of accountability. Service Desk Managers often get moved to different accounts instead of being held accountable for their failures. - Compensation is drastically lower than other similar opportunities in the area - GSC promotes a "shared suffering" mentality that breeds comradery
