Technical Sales Executive-Not A Good Career Move - Technical Sales Executive Pomeroy Technologies Employee Review

Pros

I truly cannot think of any. Perhaps the no cap on PTO, but then again, if you take it, management makes sure to instill a sense of dread in you for daring to take some time off!

Cons

The sales management there is just awful; top to bottom! I left after just a few months as a result of the management there. Zero training for new hires, outrageous expectations, no teamwork, no collaboration, senior leadership sits in their ivory towers trying to direct people like they are puppets. Base pay for a seasoned sales professional is absurdly low and they offer absolutely no ramp or bridge payments. Ill defined account bases and processes that are broken (but that;s not exclusive to Pomeroy). Just a depressing, soul-sucking environment to be around. Additionally, the mantra seems to be "kiss the OEM's reps butts" to get business and I just don't operate that way. Again, not so much a knock on Pomeroy but rather the VAR/reseller business as a whole. Clients know this and play these firms against each other.

Pros

Pomeroy has proven a place to develop a career for those who are ambitious, value autonomy, and take initiative to make a difference.

Cons

Pomeroy is a fast paced environment and moves quickly - some may find this decisiveness and desire for change not for them.

Cons

pay is far below the national average. the company does not do raises for merit or cost of living. employees are constantly pressured to do things that are not their job and take on extra work without extra pay. training documents are missing or incomplete at best. management is inconsistent with its adherence to policy and procedure. benefits are the very barest of minimums. there is a high turnover rate because of the lack of support and respect for employees.
