Pros
The workload can be minimal depending upon the contracts you support and the location you are assigned. If your management is uninvolved with little oversight, the environment can be very low stress.
Cons
Pay is very low, and benefits are minimal and continually decreasing. These factors don't attract the best and brightest, so there is high turnover and the bar is set exceedingly low for new and current employees. Management can vary, but a lot of it is actively hostile and will seek to stifle any and all dissent, particularly when confronted with situations in which they are wrong. Management will also seek to hide any and all information they do not deem immediately relevant, particularly about contract related details. Employees are generally treated as disposable since they are. Paid time off can be difficult to use since there are certain minimum staffing requirements that like to be met.
