Pros

The company offers a decent amount of yearly PTO and the position allows fair work-life balance as a result of being remote. Allotted break times are also fair and working a four-day work-week is extremely welcome.

Cons

The amount of responsibilities we are given is not reflected in our pay and advancement within the company is utterly nonexistent. Personally (and in the case of many others), in nearly three years I've only gotten a single raise, and the company has rescinded on much of what they've promised via the now-scrapped Step Up program (performance-based pay increases) and other performance-related incentives. Meanwhile, we are constantly badgered to take on new responsibilities (usually in the form of new accounts) for which we are often ill-trained and ill-prepared, whether by lack of access to the tools needed to perform our jobs or by lack of proper training from clueless leadership. The work environment is one of absolute stagnation and the lack of support received from superiors is extremely frustrating, to say the least. Health insurance through Pomeroy is extremely lacking, with the company switching providers every year (often for worse ones than the previous year). Like any field related to customer-service, clients are often rude and sometimes downright abusive with little to no recourse from Pomeroy or from the clients' respective companies. Quality Assurance assessments, rather than providing any sort of useful insight or advice, serve only to nitpick the unnatural and often-dehumanizing "scripts" and "nuances". The QA team is blatantly incompetent and will often assign penalties for things that are completely untrue. These errors can be disputed, although with mixed success.

Pros

Pomeroy has proven a place to develop a career for those who are ambitious, value autonomy, and take initiative to make a difference.

Cons

Pomeroy is a fast paced environment and moves quickly - some may find this decisiveness and desire for change not for them.

Pros

The people are truly the best part of working at Pomeroy. I had the opportunity to work with some amazing coworkers and leaders who genuinely care about one another. The work-life balance is also a real positive, especially compared to many companies in the industry. It’s also telling that many employees have long tenure, and it’s not uncommon to see people leave and eventually come back, which says a lot about the culture and the relationships people build there.

Cons

One of the biggest frustrations is that there have been a lot of promises made over the years that never seem to materialize. A 401(k) company match has been discussed for well over four years, but it still hasn’t been implemented. Leadership has also communicated plans for company-wide merit increases, yet there hasn’t been an across-the-board increase since 2023.
