Pros
Benefits are better relative to other institutions' treatment of part time faculty (but that really isn't saying much). Supportive learning community overall.
Cons
You essentially only get paid for the actual time you are in the classroom but if you start to become part of the community you get pulled into many different group's including the discipline-specific Subject Area Committees. Your work there is rarely compensated but becomes expected...especially if you hope to become full time (which is pretty rare). When the college creates full time positions, it conducts them as national searches without any priority/interest given to the part timers who have been giving their all to build the college up.
