Pros

The student diversity is wonderful. I've met staff at several different campuses and they seem to be as friendly as the staff at Rock Creek, where I worked for six months. The math department is very organized and consistent with their expectations.

Cons

The college is similar to other community colleges in that most of their instructors are only hired as part-time, so I had to work at 2 to 3 different colleges to make a living. Also, PCC only sets up their schedules one term at a time, so each term you have to wait to know your schedule, and you don't know if you'll have 1, 2 or 3 classes or none. Working at different colleges means you don't know from term to term what your income will be.

Pros

The people. PCC hires many wonderful, talented, well-meaning people who really care about their community. Other pros include, flexibility like being able to choose your own schedule, and trust in hired employees to do their work on their terms.

Cons

Major con is how messy the entire college seems to be. Massive lack in any semblance of effective communication. Nobody seems to know whats going on and everyone is almost always on a different page. Company structure is always changing and people are never notified in an organized or timely manner. Everyone seems spread too thin regardless of what position they are in and nobody seems to have the time to get on the same page. Layoffs seem to be commonly caused by lack of planning and communication. Onboarding was practically nonexistent and as a new employee i basically had to figure out everything on my own without any guidance.
