Pros

Immediate enrollment into union – PCC FFAP. Large enough to thrive (offerings/enrollment). Large bureaucracy allows you to punt undesired elements above your pay grade. High degree of academic freedom.

Cons

They break everything every year to find things to fix. Massive bureaucracy, and you can remain invisible for years. Low degree of agency or impact on the organization.

Pros

The people. PCC hires many wonderful, talented, well-meaning people who really care about their community. Other pros include, flexibility like being able to choose your own schedule, and trust in hired employees to do their work on their terms.

Cons

Major con is how messy the entire college seems to be. Massive lack in any semblance of effective communication. Nobody seems to know whats going on and everyone is almost always on a different page. Company structure is always changing and people are never notified in an organized or timely manner. Everyone seems spread too thin regardless of what position they are in and nobody seems to have the time to get on the same page. Layoffs seem to be commonly caused by lack of planning and communication. Onboarding was practically nonexistent and as a new employee i basically had to figure out everything on my own without any guidance.
