Pros

- Annual leave - Postmasters and branches - Some colleagues are amazing and genuine - Union (highly recommend joining) - New CEO - Training (pro and a con)

Cons

- What happened to branches years ago, though this is being addressed by the new CEO - HR makes a big thing about diversity and inclusion, but if you're not in the clique, you're not made to feel included - HR often have someone in mind for a role, but are happy to waste people's time with interviews. It really pays to network - Some arrogant people in senior roles - Bullying is not taken seriously. If reported, the victim is usually ostracised and sometimes treated worse than before - You will be overworked and underpaid. The business is reluctant to increase resource to cope with the extra work, but will instead cut resource - HR wants good figures and stories about their graduate scheme. Inexperienced graduates have been offered top roles over experienced candidates - Salary isn't great when promoted from within and salaries per grade or role aren't always equal or fair - Unfair and disliked PDR system. Some managers use this as a tool to bully you. Some managers give everyone really high scores and others refuse to give anyone above average - Discrimination has been observed, including highly inappropriate language - Some illiterate people in roles where literacy is important (writing documents, web pages and more) - Hierarchical - Work is often duplicated because teams don't communicate - Lack of proper training for most internal roles, including technical and technological training - Too many shared sites and websites for internal and external staff. It is a minefield and often the intranet is not updated. There are still items on the home page that haven't been updated since 2018 when we are now 2022 - No-one wants to take ownership and you can go around in circles trying to lock someone down who owns a process or system
