Pros

- Excellent work culture that reinforces positive support, collaboration, personal growth, and work-life balance - Genuinely great people make up the majority of the company from the people you work with day to day all the way up to C suite leadership - Decent benefits—mental healthcare benefits particularly notable - Job security and stability that's nearly immune to the current political and economic climate - Top tier work events

Cons

- Compensation is objectively on the low side for non-commission based roles - Better compensation, PTO, etc. takes a few years to really kick in as the company rewards tenure - Rapid growth also means role and responsibilities subject to change quite often - The people are great, but the work itself can be very challenging and stressful

Pros

Power is a fantastic place to have a career. They offer many opportunities to train and learn new skills to help you advance your career. You have access to so many resources and leadership of all levels to learn from and grow with. Most companies talk about culture, but Power walks the walk. From leadership conferences, basketball and hockey tournaments to the year end party in Mexico, this will be the last place I work.

Cons

The stakes are high at Power. We work very hard and have high expectations. Due to the industry we are in there are unconventional hours and dealing with the elements.

Pros

After 15 years with the company, the biggest positive has always been the employee-focused culture. They genuinely invest in creating a good work environment, from modern office spaces and great amenities to company events, conferences, and even trips that help build team culture. The flexibility in BT to work remotely part of the week has been a huge benefit for work-life balance, especially with a family. Compensation is competitive within the home remodeling industry, and the company offers solid benefits like 401K and private health insurance. There are also opportunities to grow and learn if you’re willing to put in the effort.

Cons

One challenge is that career growth and promotions don’t always align with seniority or long-term loyalty, which can sometimes feel discouraging after many years with the company. For employees in tech-focused roles, compensation can feel a bit below market compared to the broader tech industry, even though bonuses can help offset that in strong years. Raises without a promotion are usually modest, and while the health insurance is decent overall, coverage for some major medical needs could definitely be improved.
