5yPLI is proud of the generous benefits and work/life balance that we offer and we thank you for recognizing this. Regarding isolated department culture, we continue to actively make efforts to encourage cross-departmental collaboration and, as a result, believe much has improved over the last 5+ years.
While there may not be a promotional opportunity each year for every employee ready to move up, historically we have promoted over a dozen employees during our annual review process. We strive to support and develop less experienced staff through an array of professional development opportunities including LinkedIn Learning access and PLI University training initiatives. Thanks to these efforts coupled with our collaborative culture and excellent benefits, we do see relatively low turnover. The result is a blend of long-standing employees and new staff sharing ideas and working together.
As the author points out, we are pleased to have a workforce that reflects the diversity of the cities where we work (New York City and San Francisco), and that includes having diverse employees in managerial roles. There is always room for improvement, and we will continue to promote and hire talented, diverse employees at all levels across the organization.
