Pratt & Whitney

Part of RTX

Is this your company?

My Division was purchased by Pratt (UTC) about 5 years ago, and things have slowly gone downhill ever since. - Financial Analyst Pratt & Whitney Employee Review

Pros

Interesting and highly advanced products make even mundane tasks like financial analysis somewhat interesting. Pay and benefits are I think on par with the industry, at least as far as I can see.

Cons

We don't seem very competitive any more, and management seems to do very little to correct the problem. We react to things that have already happened, rather than anticipating. Very, very mediocre first level management is tolerated and never dealt with. "ACE" is promoted way beyond its value to the company. We have days when $200K directors spend the whole day inspecting workers cubes. Very wasteful, and this is not just my opinion, many workers, managers, and executives share this, although to verbalize it is a career killer.

Pros

Very good company to work for. A lot of learning available for interns and everyone is extremely open to talking to you and teaching you whatever you want to learn about.

Cons

No cons come to mind for now.

Pros

Great Benefits. Competitive compensation. Recognizes hard work. Engagement events.

Cons

Too politically correct. Need straight forward feed back instead of don't want to make things awkward conversations. Big corporate obstacles to getting work done.
