Pros

The company is forward looking, with focus on people including staff and their members. They consider their staff as assets which is refreshing. They are open and inclusive in their vision for the company and how they plan to get there, expecting staff to rally and partner with them in their mission. They have good benefits including a pension.

Cons

Currently the health insurance world is in upheaval and change with new president wanting to dismantle the affordable care act leaving the industry unsettled. Because of this there has been some lay offs and organizational restructuring which has created an unstable feeling employment environment. Hopefully in near future the insurance industry will stabilize so people can consider making a career there.

Premera Blue Cross Response

There is a lot of really important discussion, controversy, and change happening in the healthcare industry over the last several months. It's important for us as individual consumers and for Premera as a health plan to all remain engaged in this ongoing discussion. 2016 reflected many organizational changes to ensure we are aligned for success. With that being said, Premera has a sound direction and vision as both an insurer and a destination employer. We want to thank you for your ongoing commitment and for sharing your experience.

Pros

Remote job Good pay Decent Benefits

Cons

Overbearing, toxic management who don't really care about you as a person and your health, it's all about getting those numbers, I'm guessing that is how they receive their bonuses. People on the "team" who are not nurses makes you question why they needed some that were RN's. Unclear goal, unsure what it is that this position actually does for their members. Micromanagement.
