Pros
Not a bad gig. Better pay than competitors. The point system for attendance keeps people accountable and is very fair. They are very understanding that they are a stepping stone for many people interested in Fire/Nursing, and have been pretty flexible with scheduling. The thing I like most is there are ALWAYS opportunities to work on days you are not scheduled.
Cons
The FTO period is way too short/easy. Many things are not covered in orientation. I get that turnover is high and we need to staff the rigs, but I get fresh partners who are clueless about writing up reports and hardly know SOPs like talking on the radio, but they are thrown into the field regardless. The operations staff is outstanding but I rarely see them around.
