Pros

What you put in is what you get out in a full-commission role. I've seen colleagues easily make $100k - $250k+ in candidate placements within the year of being there. You learn how to recruit, source/prospect, and be a sales professional all in this role. Agency recruiting is a stink or swim industry, but it does opening doors for other opportunities with in-house recruiting or other corporate opportunities.

Cons

Direct Hire Division review: Working on full-commission is very stressful especially if you don't have a financial nest to fall back on. There is a 90-day window the client has until they make their payment and if the candidate does not work out then you are out of your commission check for that placement. Durning the year working there, I've seen the compensation plan change 3 times and even seen them hire business development managers to bring on new business for each office and try to take a % of already established clients that client managers have created. They structured the commission payout plan in tiers of a monthly billing cycle, the higher you bill in that month the more you take home. They tell you to take on clients if you're new to the recruiting industry but essentially want you to focus on candidate management. If you want to make over $100k - $200k, you can't just be a candidate manager and expect to get to that number. Titles/position are so candidly thrown around and people in their mid-20s are labeled VPs but aren't not real leadership, just more babysitters reporting back to the owner of what is going on in each office. Some VPs & SVPs that don't have true leadership mean well, but don't understand the industry coming into their roles or don't understand the difference between both divisions and instruct us to run our process like the other division when they is not a successful way for direct hire. They offer unlimited PTO, but is not what you think it is. What the unlimited PTO tells me, is to take your work with you where you go and/or you better be billing past your monthly or yearly goal to take the time off. With that beening said, you will be working after hours and weekends talking to candidates or clients for whatever reason. I can't tell you how many times I've talked to candidates regarding opportunities or interview preps on weeknights or weekends and a lot of times left me spinning my wheels when things don't pan out. ****I think this goes across the board for all agency recruiting, there is a lot of turn and burn. Comp structures change all the time. When you start making a lot of money, leadership will find ways to change your comp so they take in more on their end.

Thank you for your review. With Premier's rapid growth in the last few years, we've experienced a number of changes in corporate structure. We understand this can be frustrating and make a considerable effort to recognize employees for their hard work and contributions. As a small organization, we must value the ability to be nimble and make changes when things aren't working. This is the only way to be successful and grow. We appreciate all your hard work and wish you all the best.

Cons

I worked as a contractor through this agency for a company that laid off workers with only a 3-day notice. Unfortunately, the agency provided no support in helping me find another role afterward. Additionally, I've noticed they frequently post "ghost jobs" on LinkedIn listings that don’t actually exist seemingly to collect candidate information instead of maintaining a real, updated database. Based on my experience, I would not recommend working with this agency

Thank you for sharing your feedback - we take reviews like yours seriously and appreciate the opportunity to respond. At Premier, we care deeply about the experience of every contractor we support. While the timing of assignments is ultimately determined by our client partners based on their business needs, budget, and performance considerations, we always advocate for advance notice. Unfortunately, in some cases, our ability to provide more than a few days’ warning is limited to the information we receive ourselves. We truly understand how disruptive that can be, and we're sorry for how things unfolded. Regarding support after an assignment ends: we strive to re-engage every candidate, but available opportunities vary week to week and may not always align with every individual's background or goals. That said, we encourage candidates to stay active through our Candidate Portal, which provides real-time visibility into all roles we’re actively hiring for - no “ghost jobs,” ever. Every position listed is a genuine opportunity we’ve been entrusted to fill. If you didn’t hear back after applying, it may be due to high application volume or a mismatch in timing or experience, but we never intend for candidates to feel unheard or overlooked. We’ve built our platform to give you agency in your job search: from personalized job matches on your dashboard to one-click applications and automated updates, the process is designed to be transparent and proactive. If at any point you feel stuck, our support team is here for you - we’re happy to personally connect you with a recruiter to help guide the next step. We’re grateful you gave us a chance to work with you, and we’d be honored to support you again should the opportunity arise. Wishing you all the best in your continued career journey.
