Pros

The role itself is fairly straightforward if you have strong customer service experience. The systems are user-friendly once you get the hang of them. Small team means you do get to know your coworkers quickly.

Cons

There’s no structured training program or trainer. You’re expected to pick things up on the fly — including handling unique or sensitive situations without much prep. Very high call volume. Even during the slower season, I took over 30 calls in a 5-hour shift with only 25 seconds between calls. During peak enrollment, the volume is expected to triple. You're asked not to place callers on hold — instead, you’re expected to use mute while multitasking behind the scenes, which felt both unprofessional and stressful. The bilingual skillset isn’t fairly compensated — I started at $15.25/hour despite being multilingual and bringing years of experience. PTO is accrual-based and locked for the first 90 days, which doesn’t align well with the emotional and mental load of the role. The amount of work and responsibility expected from such a small team (only 5 reps and 1 manager) is disproportionate to the compensation.

Pros

Excellent work-life balance with predictable schedule and no weekend work. One-on-one patient care allows adequate time for evaluation, education, and individualized treatment. Strong emphasis on preventive care and wellness rather than high patient volume.

Cons

Honestly, I haven't found any major cons yet. I've had a very positive experience, and the organization has been supportive of both patient care and staff.

Pros

Great company to work for with strong leadership support and a team culture that genuinely cares about employee wellbeing and growth. Premise invests in continuing education, development opportunities, and provides great resources for both professional and personal health. I’ve especially appreciated the focus on whole-person wellness through programs like Sonic Boom, which makes healthy habits fun, engaging, and community-driven. Leadership is approachable, supportive, and encourages innovation and collaboration across teams.

Cons

As a large healthcare organization, some systems and processes can feel a bit outdated, especially with how quickly technology and the fitness industry evolve. That said, because Premise is a healthcare company, everything has to go through extensive vetting for compliance and safety, which is understandable. There are also a lot of policies and standardized procedures that don’t always perfectly translate to the fitness side of operations since many are built more around healthcare models. The environment can be stricter at times, but leadership is generally open-minded, willing to listen to feedback, and continues to evolve as the fitness and wellness division grows.
