Pros

Work can be very rewarding. Hours are extremely flexible in the sense that you make your own schedule. coworkers are great to work with. This is a great place to gain experience for a future career elsewhere.

Cons

Supervision is lacking in the sense that you are more updating your supervisor on your case load rather then getting any real substance from the meeting. Where a supervisor may have dropped the ball on a responsibility the blame is often pushed onto those below them. Communication from upper management and supervisors to the worker bees is extremely lacking. There is no job training. You are thrown into the job with a manual and often asked to refer to your manual or ask colleges when needing assistance . This could be due to a lack of training of supervisors as well. Support from supervisors and upper management is lacking. No training on how to use car seats or proper baby/child transportation. Many individuals have never held a child prior to this job far yet installed a car seat.

Pros

Some programs have fantastic culture, they hire/promote from within (room for growth), Ohio director is super hands on, stipends for school and overall pretty good benefits

Cons

Your experience here is very dependent on what program you work for- some supervisors and team leads create a collaborative and great work atmosphere, while others are retaliatory, create a culture of favoritism, and set you up to fail. Do what you can to speak with team members from whatever team you're applying for before you sign on to make sure you're not signing on with the latter type of supervisor. HR will protect the supervisor if you complain.
